Joy Lyons

I am a retired educator currently living in Atlanta, GA and began my second career as an artist only five years ago. I have had no formal training in art and consider myself self-taught.

My artwork features abstract and figurative paintings. I love to explore and experiment with colors, shapes, textures and dimensions. I am always excited and surprised as the layers of paint reveal their beauty. My figurative paintings depict people going about their daily life. Although I experiment with a variety of materials I primarily use oil and acrylic paints. My paintings are in private collections across the U.S. and abroad.
